Video poker

Introduction
Video poker is a game based on the poker variant Five Card Draw. The goal is to have the best combination (hand) after switching cards (draw) that the player doesn't want. Video poker is played on an electronic console that similair to a gambling machine.

Purpose
The purpose is to have the best combination with 5 cards (hand). The player can choose if he wants to keep certain cards (hold) and to trade other cards (draw) to get a better combination. There is a list of combinations according to rank. The better the combination, the more ‘credits’ players get.

The rules
The first thing the player must do is determine his bet. Players bet with one to five ‘credits’. It's recommended to bet with the maximum amount, so you get the maximum amount of profit. The differences can be seen on a list of ranks that computer provides. When the player has chosen his bet he will get five cards from the computer. The player can then choose which cards to keep (hold) and which ones to trade (draw). The amount of cards the player can trade is up to him. When the player creates a certain combination, -
the computer will show this and the player will get a certain amount of ‘credits’. Often there is also be a bonus (Double Up) when the player has won ‘credits’. He can then double his profit with a type of game. This game is as follows: there are five cards next to each other, faced down so you can't see them yet. The computer will turn the first card, the player must choose another card from one of the last four. When the card the player chooses is higher than the one that the computer has drawn, the amount of ‘credits’ will be doubled. The player can keep on doing this until he looses or when there is a tie. Just like normal poker, this game has different variants. The difference between these variants often lay in the ranks of combinations. The most well-known variant is probably the ‘Jacks or Better’. The payout starts with a pair of jacks or higher. A similair variant is ‘Tens or Better’. The same, but with a pair of tens.

Payout
A player can bet with one to five ‘credits’ eacht time. How much these ‘credits’ are worth, differs from game to game. The amount the player wins is doubled, tripled, quadruples or quintupled depending on the bet. One exception is the ‘Royal flush’. When the player gets a ‘Royal flush’ and has placed a five credit bet, he will get 4000 ‘credits’. The following list is as shown on the computer:
