The game starts with placing the bets. The player has to gamble which 20 of the 80 numbers are going to be randomly selected by the computer. These 80 numbers are displayed in order on a ticket, seperated by a line between the numbers 1 to 40 and 41 to 80. For each number the player chooses he can place a bet. There are different methods to choose the numbers. The first, most logical, is to bet on several numbers.

This method is simply called "Straight Bet". Another method is the so–called ‘Bet Against’. This option is available when the player has selected a minimum of 8 numbers on the ticket. He will then think none of the selected numbers will be chosen by the computer. Another method is ‘Catch All’ (or also: ‘Hit All’). This is possible when the player chooses the numbers between 2 and 7. He takes the chance/gamble that all of these numbers will be selected. Then there is the ‘High Roller’. This method is very similar to ‘Straight Bet’. Both will be activated when the player selects one number. The payoff is on a different schedule where you have to catch more spots in order to get paid, but the payoff is greater. Last there is ‘Top or Bottom’. This is the only option that is enabled as soon as you start the game before you mark the ticket.You only need to place your bet to be able to use this option. It's not necassarry to choose numbers or one of the two opposite parts. The only thing the player is betting on is one of the two parts. When the player places the bet and has selected the method, the numbers are randomly choosen by the computer. When the numbers are the same as that of the player you call it a ‘hit’.

The payout

The payout differs from one Keno game to another. Usually they use the so–called ‘paytables’ on which it is clearly stated how much will be paid out. The higher the bet, the more you can win.
