Calculate total points
The ace counts as 1. Tens and face cards are counted as 0.
The cards with the numbers 2 - 9 are counted as the number displayed on the card.
If the dealer gives you a 6 and a 7, the total will be 3 and not 13 (this counts with all numbers above 9, 8 and 8 = 16, so 6).

The game

The dealer deals 4 cards, 2 for the player and 2 for the bankholder. If the total amount of points for the player or the bank is higher then 8, it's called a "Natural" and no more cards are dealt. With an equal amount of points it's called a "tie". If the cards are not a natural or a tie, another card will be dealt.

If the player has a total of 6 points or more he will have to pass and will not be given any more cards. With less then 5 points the player will get an extra card. If the bankholder has a total of 7 or more points, he will have to pass. If the total is 0.1 or 2.5, he will get another card.

If the bankholder has a total of 3 cards and the 3rd card is not an 8, he will get another card. The bankholder gets the cards before the player does. If the bankholder has a total 4 and the player's 3rd card is not a 1, 8, 9 or 0 the bankholder gets another card. If the bankholder has a total of 5, and the player gets a card with 4, 5, 6 or 7 the bankholder has to take another card. If the bankholder has a total of 6, and the player's card is a 6 or a 7, the bankholder takes another card.

Payout
The payout rules are pretty simple. If you have placed a bet on a winning pair of cards the payout is 1 on 1. If you had chosen a tie then the payout is 8 to 1. With online casino baccarat the mimimum bet is $1 and maximum $250.
